2020 Cottongrass Jumper Knitalong

Announcing a new knitalong for a new decade! Every January we host a sweater KAL and we wanted to start out the new decade honoring that tradition. This year, we had our local craft night attendees vote on the pattern...and the winner is: Cottongrass Jumper by the Petite Knitter.

We can’t wait to start knitting this beautiful colorwork sweater with you all. The Cottongrass Jumper is knit from the top down and features dk yarn. The Cottongrass jumper is unisex and has an inclusive size range of xs (31.25”) - 5xl (65”). We have chosen a few yarns that we think would be stunning knit up in this sweater.

Option 1 - Jaime’s Choice: Nightshades + Freia
Jaime will be knitting her Cottongrass in the beautiful black heather of US grown and milled Nightshades by Harrisville in the color Cinder. To contrast, she is going to try Freia flux sport to give an ombre effect in Purpleheart.



Option 2 - Amber’s Choice: Echoview Ranger Merino
Amber has chosen the rosey brown color Redtail as her main color and the off-white Hedwid as her contrast.



Option 3 - Kelbourne Woolens Scout: we are thrilled to finally be carrying Scout from Kelbourne Woolens. Scout is a sturdy, but soft Peruvian heathered wool yarn. The heathered shades give beautiful depth to your work. This classic, affordable yarn will create a long-lasting and gorgeous Cottongrass.

Option 4 - Brooklyn Tweed Arbor: Arbor is a highly twisted, US grown, milled and dyed wool yarn from Brooklyn Tweed. This yarn comes in a wide range of saturated and subtle colors that will satisfy every colorwork desire.

The Cottongrass KAL will go from January 21st to March 31st.

Cast on! We will be casting on our pullovers on January 21st. Local Denver folks can join us at Craft Night that evening from 6 - 9 pm for a special cast on party!

Knit! We’ll be knitting our sweaters together at Craft Night every Tuesday night for the duration of the KAL. If you’re not local, or even if you are please join us on...Instagram! Finish! We plan to finish our sweaters by Tuesday, March 31st. We will have a Craft Night sweater celebration with treats and libations. Bring yourself and your pullover to Craft Night on the 31st for a high five, good times and a photoshoot so we can share your work here on the blog!
