About

Fancy Tiger Crafts is a revolutionary shop in Denver, Colorado that specializes in craft supplies and classes for the modern crafter. Our vision is to inspire people to reach their crafting potential through modern and sustainable supplies and quality instruction. We believe that making things by hand makes people feel better and that if more people made things, the world would be a better place!

Fancy Tiger opened on June 16th, 2006 at 1 S. Broadway in Denver, the brain child of Jaime Jennings and Amber Corcoran. This tiny DIY boutique paved the way for the recent revitalization of the Broadway shopping district. On January 1st, 2012, Fancy Tiger Crafts moved just up the street to a larger, newly renovated location at 59 Broadway. In 2014, we opened the online store to share the love and inspiration of their little brick and mortar to the world beyond Denver. On November 1st, 2021 Fancy Tiger Crafts transitioned to an Employee-Owned Co-op, the culmination of 18 months of hard work between Jaime and Amber, and the transition team.

After 15 years of ownership, Jaime and Amber wanted to create a business that was more focused on equity and inclusion. Simply put, with a worker-owned co-op, a group of employees can work together as owners and managers of the business which benefits everyone through a larger pool of viewpoints, ideas and lived experiences. While Jaime and Amber have stepped down as business owners, they will remain as advisors and members of the Co-op's Board of Directors. Our founding members of the Co-op, Christina, Pink, Marta and Negley, will hold meetings with the board and vote on decisions that will benefit the business, employees, customers and our community.

Co-op Members

We remain committed to being leaders, in both the craft world and our local Denver community, in a business model that benefits all stakeholders. The co-op structure allows us to offer progressive wages and benefits to all employees. We continue to work towards a shop which is inclusive and welcoming to everyone. Our commitment to the environment shapes both the products we offer, and the materials we use in store and for shipping. And since our business impacts not just employees, vendors, and customers, we endeavor to be good neighbors to residents and businesses in Baker, and to do community outreach.

Our Spaces:

In addition to aisles of fabric, yarn, thread, roving, dyes, kits, notions, tools, and more; the current shop features a large sewing studio, and an expansive community space for events and handcrafting.

We host open community Craft Nights often (see the event schedule here) and we'd love to meet you! Bring your project and knit, spin, crochet, or embroider with us. If you're ever in the neighborhood, please visit us and say hi!
