Espadrille Soles at Fancy Tiger
Here at Fancy Tiger we just started carrying Dritz Espadrilles soles and we couldn't be more excited to get started sewing our own shoes!
Materials: Espadrille Sole Kit in your shoe size, 1/2 yard exterior fabric, 1/2 lining fabric, strong cotton thread, iron on stabilizer
Pattern included in kit
In just a few quick hours after gathering materials, you will be wearing shoes! Shoes that you made yourself! It doesn't get much more satisfying than that. Plus, these guys are very reasonably priced. The kit is only $11 and you need just 1 yard of fabric total for exterior and lining.
For our store sample we picked this great Hoffman indah batik. We are currently sold out in the black and white variation, but we do still have this raw umber color still in stock. Or check out the whole line of Hoffman hand dyed batiks. Any one of them would be the perfect substitution for these cute shoes.
We hope you are as inspired and excited as we are about this new addition to the store. They are sure to take your handmade wardrobe to the next level!

Hey Liz! I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t. All you are in search of is a very stable, semi-thick thread that you sew them together with. Sashiko is just our recommendation. There are many types of thread that would work wonderfully.

Can crochet thread be substituted for sashiko thread?

Hello A,
These seem to run pretty true to size, so we would recommend you go up to the larger size to ensure they are not too small for your feet.
Let us know if you have any other questions.

Would you recommend sizing up or down for the half sized feet out there? :)

Hello Vanessa,
We do not currently have our Sashiko thread online, but if you email our Webstore manager at orders@fancytigercrafts.com she can get an order set up for you.

These are adorable! Do you sell the recommended Sashiko thread online? I cannot seem to find it on your site. Thanks!
