Free Pattern Alert! New Zócalo Quilt Pattern!

Zócalo's finished size is 42" x 58", the perfect size for a cozy throw or a quilt for baby. This free quilt pattern has a bold, modern aesthetic inspired by the vibrant color and energy of the city square.

The pattern uses diagrams and clear instructions to walk you through piecing together your quilt top. Shawna's pattern uses a traditional courthouse steps block in an unexpected modern composition for a fresh, bold quilt.

This quilt makes a great starting point for mixing together your favorite solid colors. We think it could even look amazing to mix in a print to spice it up in a different way!

Shawna added three stripes to the back of her quilt, bringing some of the colorblocking magic from the front. We love contrast of the deep blue on the back. A sweet little floral print would be another choice that could be a beautiful contrast to the front of the quilt.
