Chevron Throw Take Two!
This year, our US-made, Heirloom Romney yarn got a makeover with a new milling process, softer hand, and all new color palette. It seemed fitting to re-release one of our favorite Heirloom patterns: our free Heirloom Chevron Throw pattern!
This large blanket, designed by Jocelyn Tunney, is the perfect project to show off Heirloom's beautiful colors and be rewarded with its sturdy make-up. The time you put into this heirloom piece will be well spent. It will stand the test of time and keep you and your family cozy and warm for years to come.
Heirloom's updated color palette is showcased beautifully in this project that uses 6 colors for a bold, graphic statement that's certain to be a centerpiece in any room. We've put together three colorways and kits. Olathe features golds, neutrals and yellows, Telluride is blues and greens, and Paonia features an ombre of rich purples. The pattern is available for free so you can experiment with your own color combinations as well. Our kits are sustainably packaged in our new oversized, zippered, cotton branded bags, which include a handy inner pouch to store notions in.
The original, generous size of this blanket uses 12 skeins (2 each of 6 colors) for a lovely and giant throw at 52" x 74". It's perfect for two people + pets to cuddle under. The updated pattern includes a second, smaller size blanket that uses 6 skeins (1 each of 6 colors) and finishes at 35" x 50". In either size, the blanket knits up pretty fast in satisfying garter stitch on size 10 needles.
