Emily's Cozy Hygge Cowl
This time of year, I always dream of making warm and cozy knits that I can wrap around myself. When I first found this cowl, I couldn’t wait to wear it during these cold winter months. The pattern was fantastically quick to knit and the result is a beautiful, wearable garment.
Pattern: VÆRN by Olga Buraya-Kefelian from the Woolfolk Hygge Collection
Yarn: 2 skeins of Woolfolk Hygge in Silver Grey 02
Modifications: None
Let me just say, bulky Hygge is as soft as a cloud and is as luxurious as anything you would expect from Woolfolk. Made with ultimate merino, superfine baby alpaca, and mulberry silk, you are definitely going to want to drape yourself in this stuff day and night. Plus the texture is unlike pretty much any other yarn I have seen. It is such a pleasure to work with.
This cowl would be a great pattern for a beginner looking for a project or for a more experienced knitter that is looking for a relaxing project to remind you what you love about knitting. The pattern of the cowl looks complex when finished but was an easy repetition of just two knitting stitches. Combine the thick yarn with large needles and you will fly through this project.
I love that this cowl can be worn single or wrapped doubled over! It means this cowl can easily transition from a very tight, cozy winter cowl into a more easy fitting spring garment. Versatility is so important in my book.
One quick word of caution, I used and needed every inch of the yarn called for, so waste none, you’ll want every inch of it!
