Amber's Teeny-Tiny Anya Tunic and Shorts

The Tinies collection just rolled into the shop and I immediately knew: I had to make a tiny outfit from these sweet prints a.s.a.p. This fabric collection from Marisa of Creative Thursday is her first collection with Japanese company Kokka, which means her darling drawings are printed onto lovely linen/cotton canvas as well as quilting cotton. Her designs couldn't be more suited for this lineny fabric. Now, for the perfect little outfit to stitch up--Anya from Green Bee! The pattern includes the sweetest little top and shorts set, which means I can coordinate them using my two favorite prints from The Tinies collection!

Pattern: Anya Top & Shorts by Green Bee Sewing Patterns
Fabric: 1 1/4 yds The Tinies Canvas Yellow and 7/8 yds of Tiny Heart Canvas Red by Creative Thursday
Size Made: 2
Modifications: none

First up, I made the Anya Top. This darling, swingy top has really fun sleeve construction. The inset sleeves can also, be made from contrast fabric, but I chose to go all-out with The Tinies. Three buttons create the back closure, and I fell in love with our fancy new Janome Skyline machine as I stitched these perfect buttonholes.

I used a bit of the tiny heart fabric for my neck and sleeve facing, which means the sleeve can also be turned up for a contrasting cuff. Can't...handle...the...cute.

Next up, li'l shorts! The Anya shorts are super simple, and came together really quickly.

I cut my tie lining from the yellow Tinies fabric, for a little pop of yellow in the bow. It turned this into a real matchy-matchy outfit, but hey, a two-year old should be able to pull that off if anyone can! The little bows are such a sweet way to finish off these gathered shorts.

This whole set came together in just a few hours. Sewing for tiny people is so rewarding!

Just as I was finishing my Anya project, Alexia of Green Bee Sewing Patterns (and Cotton + Steel) stopped in to say hello, and I got a high five for making her cute pattern!
