This rugged hat is warm and woolly enough for any mountain explorer! The Buckhorn Cap is worked with two strands of worsted weight held together, for a chunky gauge hat that knits up super quick on size 11 needles.

1 skein each of 2 colors Fancy Tiger Crafts’ Heirloom Romney Yarn 200yds/4oz
Version 1 shown in Fava Bean (A) & Carrot (B)
Version 2 shown in Elderberry (A) & Tomato (B)
Needles & Such:
16” size US 9 (5.5mm) for ribbing
16” size US 11 (8mm) for stockinette colorwork
size US 11 (8mm) DPNs

Gauge:
12 sts & 14 rows = 4” in colorwork pattern
Finished Size:
22” circumference & 9” brim to crown
