Checking In: with Jaime Jennings
The weather here is warming up with temperatures holding steady in the 70's this week. Of course, this has me dreaming of new wardrobe items for our upcoming warm season. Not surprisingly I have a lot of items in my current queue.
I've been working on knitting the Pieces of Silver Sweater by Veera Välimäki since the beginning of March. This cropped, turtleneck pullover is knit in fingering weight yarn and I'm using Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in Birch. This means it's taking a while, but I'm in the home stretch now and about to cast off the body and start the sleeves.
I've already been dreaming of my next knitting project, Deschain by Lelia Raabe for Quince and Co ever since they released the Linen Noir collection last month. I'm so in love with this sweater. Kestrel is one of my favorite summer yarns to knit with so having this project lined up is giving me the motivation I need to finish my current project. I couldn't resist using the same black color, Ash that the sample is shown in - this sweater is summertime perfection.
In sewing, I have a lot of fabric cut, washed and ready to sew with - I just need some time! All of these projects are patterns that are tried and true for me and are going to be great staple pieces.
I recently found these sweet eye buttons so I've decided on an off-black linen Alder Shirtdress to show them off.
I've been dying to use this cut of raw silk noil fabric that I naturally dyed with Maura in Savannah at her class for Quiltcon. This precious piece of fabric is going to become a short sleeved Fen.
Finally, I have two cuts of my favorite jersey ready to be made into Wanderlust tees. I love our Hemp Jersey so much and when we received a new batch of colors earlier this spring, I couldn't resist cutting some.
That seems like enough to keep me busy for a while!

Hey, Ashley!
Unfortunately, the buttons are no longer available where Jaime bought them. We have also searched for a new source without any luck. We will keep you updated if find them anywhere.

I’ve been searching for those buttons for a while on etsy. What shop did they come from? Thanks!

Oh, that Deschain sweater. Could it be more perfect? Hope you find the time to make one.
