Camellia Fiber Co. Boxy Tee

The Boxy Tee has been on my to-knit list for a while now. It is the perfect sweater for me; fingering weight, over-sized, and well....boxy. Boxy is just a big square which is exactly how I like my tops these days. I cast on as soon as we received the Camellia Fiber Co. yarns  and I knew my dream sweater was in the making.

Camellia Fiber Co. Flax Yarn Detail

First, let me wax poetic about this yarn. CFC Flax is a soft, luscious blend of 50% alpaca, 25% linen, and 25% silk in a 3-ply fingering weight. It is so wonderfully drapey and absolutely perfect for this over-sized garment. This yarn is unbelievably soft and the linen adds a bit of a rustic texture which I love. CFC is dyed in Nashville TN and I'm pretty much obsessed with every color. This color Stucco, a love child between grey and purple, is the greatest color I could imagine. So many heart eyes.

The Boxy Pattern by Joji Locatelli is brilliant. There are instructions for knitting it either in the round or as a seamed sweater depending on your preference. I personally chose to knit in the round. It is a bottom up sweater with short row shaping for the shoulders. The shoulder seams are joined with a 3-needle bind off and the sleeves are picked up and knit in the round. The neck is finished with a bit of ribbing. Simple and elegant.

This is a great sweater to knit if you love stockinette stitch which I do...just stockinette stitch forevvvver! With 30" of positive ease and worked on size 3 needles, this was a lot of knitting. This sweater took me about 3 months which is a long time for me, but I don't regret a minute it of. It was a joy to knit both the meditative pattern and the silky yarn. It is my current favorite sweater and I look forward to wearing it all the time.
