Lauren's Paris Toujours
One of my favorite things about working at Fancy Tiger is getting to see all the new and exciting yarns that come into the shop. I couldn’t wait when I learned Spincycle was coming out with a line of yarns featuring all different colors marled with grey (my go-to yarn color). There were almost too many beautiful options to choose just one!
I’m currently trying to break out of my normal color scheme so I chose the yellow and grey combo “Beets and Bears” and decided to make a fun shawl for when fall rolls around!
Pattern: Paris Toujours Shawl by Isabell Kraemer
Materials: 4 Skeins of Spincycle Versus in ‘Beets and Bears’; Size 5 & 8 32” Circular needles
Modifications: Made the garter border half the width
The Paris Toujours Shawl is the perfect binge tv knitting. The pattern works up quickly on size 8 needles and the pattern is easily memorized after just a couple repeats. I like the open lacework in this shawl and I think the marled yarn stands up well to the pattern. Originally, it called for almost double the rows in the final garter border along the edge of the shawl. I decided I liked the look of a smaller border better and I’m really happy with the change. It’s the perfect size for me!
The thing I loved most about this project was getting to work with Versus. I LOVE this yarn! This is my first time working with Spincycle and I am hooked. It gives the most amazing texture and bounce to any project. The squishy-ness is off the charts! All Spincycle Yarns are milled and dyed in the USA and the company is run by two awesome women - which makes me love it even more!
I am so glad I got the chance to work with this yarn and expand my fiber horizons. I would love to work up a sweater in the Versus yarn. That grey marl can’t be topped!
