Britney's Sparrow Shrug and Hat

Britney, whose smiling face you may have seen in the shop, is passionate about knitting. When she decided to work on some summer knits, she made not one, but two projects in no time! Here is Britney to tell you more.

Pattern: Truffle Shrug by Pam Allen
Yarn: 5 skeins Quince & Co Sparrow in color Pigeon (available in store)
Size: Small
Modifications: buttons instead of seaming

I decided to try the Truffle Shrug, because it looked like a simple first lacework project. And it was! This was my first time to use a fingering weight linen. I love how drapey the finished fabric is.

The pattern construction is super simple, a rectangle that is seamed into a loose shrug. Instead of seaming I decided to sew buttons on to make an even more versatile garment and I love the result.

Pattern: Put a Lid on It hat by Hannah Fettig
Yarn: Quince and Co Sparrow in Pigeon, Eleuthera, and Banyon; parts of 3 skeins
Size Made: one size
Modifications: stripes

This stockinette hat was too cute, and I always need more hats in my life! This is a great project for someone who has yet to venture into fingering weight yarns. It knits up so quickly! My fave part of this hat is the two-tone stripes, and I even have enough yarn leftover to make another one!
