Brand new for Fall 2020, Malabrigo has released Rasta Pintada! Pintada is a new dyeing technique developed after considerable research and experimentation, a result of the combination of several dyeing methods.
When knitting with Pintada, you may notice some of the speckled effects are linked to some classic Rasta shades like Sunset, Paris Night, Azul Profundo, Frank Ochre, Ravelry Red and Fiesta. Mix and match if you like or knit these unique color combinations all on their own.
Malabrigo is known for their lush, soft Merino yarns out of Uruguay in beautifully kettle dyed hues. Rasta is their bulkiest offering--a super bulky, smooth single ply, slightly felted with just a hint of twist to it.
Malabrigo yarns are produced in Uruguay from mulesing-free, free-range sheep. They use a flat-plate thermal heating system to decrease their environmental footprint by using the power of the sun to heat water tanks. This yarn meets Oeko-Tex and 1907/2006 CE standards, meaning there are no harmful chemicals.
Suggested gauge is 8-10 sts to 4" on US 13-15 needles.
Hand wash cool, lay flat to dry.
