Beginner: No experience necessary — we’ll teach you everything!

Beginner Plus:   You have taken a 101 class or equivalent. You are familiar with threading your machine or know basic knit or crochet stitches.

Intermediate: You’ve got a few projects under your belt. You’ve made a few things and are looking to increase your knowledge.

Advanced: You know quite a bit about your chosen craft and you’re ready to take it to the next level.

In this intro level class, students will learn the foundations of natural dye processes with local artist, Caroline Worrell. You'll leave with an understanding of mordanting/pre-treatment, immersion dyeing, and after-care. Bring 1-3 items of undyed fabric, fiber, or an item you’d like to up-cycle and give a new life!

Provided Materials: 

Class fee includes an info booklet for students to take notes, natural dye and mordanting materials, and equipment. Let's explore the vibrant world of natural color together!

 

About your Instructor:

Caroline Worrell is an emerging Denver-based fiber artist who explores the intersections of art + fashion through the use of traditional Women's craft processes. A gift that was passed down through multiple generations of matriarchs, Caroline believes crocheting is a tool for creation, meditation, and activism.

Caroline specializes in crocheted wearables, natural dye processes, and various other sustainable fiber practices. Her work can be found on her Instagram (@carolineworrell) or her website, www.carolineworrellfibers.com.
