Heirloom Romney take two! Our beloved private label yarn has been updated due to a change of mills and some surprises means it’s the best it’s ever been. The new Heirloom is the same US-sourced Romney wool, but is now milled as a semi-worsted instead of a woolen spun. The resulting yarn is softer than ever! The new palette of colors, hand dyed by Jeane deCoster, includes 2 shades of undyed natural greys and 20 colors which are overdyed on a mix of both the naturals for a wide range of beautiful hues. This worsted weight yarn is perfect for colorwork, punch needle, cardigans, hats, mittens and more, and can be used with our original Heirloom Romney.
Romney sheep, descendents of medieval "longwool" breeds, produce an abundance of lustrous wool. The long staple length of this hard-working wool yarn makes sturdy items that hold up to years of wear.
Grown, milled, and dyed in Oregon, California, and Pennsylvania by Elemental Affects for Fancy Tiger Crafts.
Suggested gauge is 16 - 18 sts to 4" on US 7 - 9.
Wash gently by hand in warm water and lay flat to dry.
