Make and design a Beaded Dorset Button Brooch to give an extra special finishing touch to an accessory or garment. This two hour workshop will build on the basic techniques covered in the Dorset Button Crosswheel workshop. We will explore four different techniques for adding beads to your Dorset Buttons and discuss the best way to use the beads to bring extra colour, texture & sparkle! This advanced technique workshop requires prior knowledge of the Dorset Button Crosswheel techniques or attendance at a previous workshop.
This class is taught by Tania Ashton Jones from the Isle of Skye. Brought up in Dorset, on the South Coast of England, & now living on the Isle of Skye off the North West Coast of Scotland, Tania is addicted to making Dorset Buttons & loves to spread the word about this traditional 17th Century craft through her creative business TJFrog. Tania enjoys sourcing yarns to showcase colours & textures in different Dorset Button designs. Class includes materials, but feel free to bring your own yarn scraps to incorporate.
