The great minds at Cocoknits like to use bamboo double point needles for two things: when working cables and when picking up stitches to create the shoulders of a Cocoknits Method Sweater. They like that bamboo is "stickier" than metal so the needle doesn't slip out of the stitches as easily. But they were constantly storing the needle tucked into their hair, behind their ears, even between teeth--and would still invariably lose it.
This bamboo needle was designed to stick to the Cocoknits Maker's Keep while not in use so it doesn't end up down the sofa or lost on the floor. It took years to get it just right - the metal band around the center of the Cocoknits bamboo cable needles is slightly raised to help keep the needle from slipping out of your stitches while cabling or picking up stitches. The points are purposely blunt so that you can use a fingernail file or pencil sharpener to customize your preferred sharpness on the tips.
