Students have the choice of the Inclinations Shawl or the Inclinations Cowl by Andrea Mowry for this class. Both projects use the same techniques. Students will leave this class with all skills to make the Inclination Shawl, Cowl or both. Both projects lend well as fashionable staple pieces for any wardrobe, a beautiful way to show off color in this luscious, squishable, and comfy project.

Class 1- We will discuss color options and yarn possibilities for this project, as well as learning half Fishermans Rib, and I-cord tips ad tricks.

Class 2- We will discuss fixing any mistakes, and questions that come up. Students will also learn finishing and blocking of this project, as well as seaming of the cowl. For this class students should be able to knit, purl, and should feel comfortable with long tail cast on.

Required Materials (sold separately):

  • Please come to the first class with your pattern purchased and printed
  • The shawl pattern is written for worsted weight yarn, but can be worked in any weight of yarn, as the shawl can be tailored to size preference or until yarn is all used up. The inclination shawl is a great pattern to use partial skeins of yarn, as long as all the yarn is the same weight.
  • The cowl pattern must be knit in sport weight yarn, as it is gauged for that size and must be knit to specific dimensions in order to fit after being seemed.
  • Knitting needles in size your pattern suggests, or size to obtain gauge
