Jaime's Mojave Marlalong Rift

Guess what?? I joined another knitalong! This time I joined Kelbourne Woolens for their Mojave Marlalong knitting the Rift Tee. I love it so much!

Pattern: Rift Tee by Jacqui Cieslak
Yarn: Kelbourne Mojave in Slate Grey and Mauve
Size Made: 44"
Modifications: none - I made the short-sleeved, v-neck version

Things I love: marls, summery knit tees, knitting with linen, and easy-to-follow, choose-your-own-adventure patterns - this hits them all!

First off, marls. This is the effect of knitting with two strands of different colors held together. Marls are such a simple and fun way to make a beautiful, interesting fabric. This was my first time marling with summery yarns and it's still great. I used the colors Slate Grey held with Mauve for this one.

Second: summer knit tees. Knitting isn't just for fall and winter! Knitting summer tees is the best! They are often quick with no sleeves or short sleeves. Also, you just feel cool wearing handknit garments in the summertime.

Third: knitting with linen. I just love linen whether it's sewing with linen or knitting with it. Mojave is a quintessential cotton/linen blend yarn and will not disappoint. We just received five new colors and they are all so bright and summery - the hardest part is choosing.

Fourth: easy to follow, choose your own adventure pattern. This is my first pattern I've knit by Jacqui even though I've been a long time fan. It's so fun! There are so many options! You can choose your sleeve length, front and back necklines, split hem or solid and there are great instructions for size modifications such as a full bicep adjustment. You really can make this perfectly, exactly how you want it. There's no excuse for me not to use this pattern again and I could make a completely different, long-sleeved, wool Rift for winter. Such a great pattern!

Thanks, Kelbourne for the great yarn and MARLALONG. Now what do I knit??
