This yarn is the culmination of a dream collaboration between Elemental Affects and Sincere Sheep. For years, they have wanted to design a warm weather yarn that takes advantage of all the best qualities of merino wool, silk and flax. With the hand of a slightly textured cotton, the yarn behaves like the perfect temperature control -- absorbing moisture and helping it wick it away from the body.
Coastal yarn features 50% American wool from Shaniko Wool Company, 25% silk, 25% Belgian flax. Shaniko Wool Company is Merino and Rambouillet from American farms and ranches and is certified under the Responsible Wool Standard.
This yarn is great for both garments and shawls!
Suggested gauge is 20 sts to 4" on US 5-6 needles.
