Beginner: No experience necessary — we’ll teach you everything!
Beginner Plus: You have taken a 101 class or equivalent. You are familiar with threading your machine or know basic knit or crochet stitches.
Intermediate: You’ve got a few projects under your belt. You’ve made a few things and are looking to increase your knowledge.
Advanced: You know quite a bit about your chosen craft and you’re ready to take it to the next level.
This class is three sessions total. Please ensure you can attend all sessions.
Are you excited to delve into the world of sock knitting, but still unsure of tiny needles or yarn? Then this Sock Knitting class is for you. We will make a pair of DK weight socks perfect to learn the techniques of sock knitting while also feeling fast. DK socks are great house socks, thick winter socks, and hiking socks!
We will knit these socks cuff down with a Heel Flap and Gusset. We will learn techniques such as the German Twisted Cast On and Kitchener stitch.
Techniques to Be Comfortable With
Basic Knit Stitches: Knit and Purl
Decrease Stitches: K2tog and SSK
Knitting in the Round
Magic Loop (if this is your method of choice)
