Beginner: No experience necessary — we’ll teach you everything!

Beginner Plus:   You have taken a 101 class or equivalent. You are familiar with threading your machine or know basic knit or crochet stitches.

Intermediate: You’ve got a few projects under your belt. You’ve made a few things and are looking to increase your knowledge.

Advanced: You know quite a bit about your chosen craft and you’re ready to take it to the next level.

Learn this fun technique to make a coiled bowl or basket from rope and a sewing machine. Students must have taken Sewing 101 or have equivalent skills and know how to operate a sewing machine.

Required Materials (sold separately):

  • 100 - 200 feet of Clothesline or 5MM Macrame cord (our sample uses just under 100 ft of 5MM Macrame cord)
  • 400 - 660 yds of thread
  • Optional: bring tiny fabric scraps if you’d like to wrap bits of fabric around the rope
