Beginner: No experience necessary — we’ll teach you everything!

Beginner Plus:   You have taken a 101 class or equivalent. You are familiar with threading your machine or know basic knit or crochet stitches.

Intermediate: You’ve got a few projects under your belt. You’ve made a few things and are looking to increase your knowledge.

Advanced: You know quite a bit about your chosen craft and you’re ready to take it to the next level.

Learn how to make woven bias tape via two different methods and practice using a 1" bias-tape maker as well as only an iron to finish the folds. This class covers the different uses and functions of woven bias tape for appliqué, quilt binding, and garment (e.g., neckline) finishes. You will have the opportunity to make bias tape of more than one width and  practice applying your finished bias tape to different surfaces and edges!

Required Materials:

  • one fat quarter OR 18"x21" piece of woven fabric

(Note: this class does not cover jersey bias tape.)
