Portugal Travels Pt 5: Wrap Up

I hope we've convinced you to put Portugal on your Wanderlust list. It was such a treat to travel with such wonderful company and wool-loving ladies. Thanks especially to Rosa for helping arrange such amazing experiences for us. To read more, be sure to catch up on Karen's blog about our trip and check out #portewegals on Instagram.

We’d like to leave you with some inspiring photos of one of the unique features of Portugal: the colorful tiles, or azulejos. As crafters, we fell in love with the pattern covered buildings, sometimes reminiscent of quilts or colorwork. The azulejos protect the building facades from the salty sea air in the most gorgeous way ever.

I have thoroughly enjoyed following your wool travels through Portugal. We live in a very small village, Redelinghuys, on the West Coast of South Africa. However, we are planning on moving to Portugal permanently as soon as our house sells and we are accepted on a D7 visa. As a keen knitter and crocheter I was keen to find some local Portuguese wool brands. I was thrilled to find Retrosaria, and then your blog. Many thanks for sharing your experience.
