Sidewalk Rompers
My sister is expecting the arrival of twins, and I couldn't be more excited to be Aunt to two more tiny humans! When Cloud9 released a collection of knits designed by Rae Hoekstra (of Made by Rae fame), I jumped at the opportunity to make a couple of rompers for the babes!
Pattern: Short Romper and Hat from Green Bee's Modern Baby Set
Materials: 3/4 yd each, Pencil and Shoe print from Made by Rae's Sidewalk Knits collection, 1/3 yd of 2 coordinating woven fabrics for placket and binding
Size Made: 0-3 months
Cloud9's knits are a 100% cotton interlock that is a joy to work with. Its stability makes it easy to sew and the soft, organic cotton means it's an amazing option for garments! Add some cute designs by Made by Rae, and I'm sold!
I've been wanting to make Green Bee's Modern Baby Set for a while now, so I jumped right in when I got the yardage. The pattern only includes the 0-3 month size, but it includes all the essentials for newborns. With options for a shirt, romper, top, diaper cover, pants, hat, bib, and blanket, you might never need another pattern for baby showers! I have several friends expecting at the moment, so I'll definitely be coming back to this pattern again and again.
The pattern came together quickly with the placket being the most skill demanding. And those tiny little sleeves are sure to make you swoon! It took some time to set in all the snaps, but it was so worth it to see them come together. With some careful cutting, I had just enough fabric left to make two coordinating hats.

They are absolutely darling…I have two sets of twins and so appreciate twin sewing. I love the pattern and fabrics. Well done!
