Marta's Sparkly Nordiska
This Nordiska pattern is beautifully written and easy to follow. The boxy shape makes it easy to fit so I didn’t need to make any sizing adjustments. I love the V-neck and the colorwork along the bottom hem of the body and sleeves.
Pattern: Nordiska by Caitlin Hunter
Size made: 3
Materials used: Einrum E2 in Scolecite (main color), Obsidian, and Opal (contrasting colors)
Modifications: None
Something I noticed about this sweater when I was about halfway through knitting it was that I had chosen basically the exact same colors as the ones pictured in the pattern! That’s a little unlike me, but the colors are beautiful and probably played into why I was attracted to knitting this in the first place!
Einrum E2 is spun from Icelandic wool and plied with Mulberry Thai silk, which gives the hardy wool a bit of drape and some shine and softness. This sweater is almost sparkly, but not quite!
Because this sweater is a lopi and silk sweater, it is very very warm and cozy! A little too warm to wear until we really get into winter I think, but I am very much looking forward to wearing it then. It should be easy to style because it’s cropped, and we all know how much I love a cropped sweater to layer over dresses and tunics or to wear with high waisted jeans or skirts!
