Lauren's Montlake Tee
I can never turn down a comfortable t-shirt. My favorite wardrobe staples are the ones that I can wear with almost anything. Sometimes it is hard to find perfectly fitting basics- so I decided to make my own!
Pattern: Montlake Tee by Straight Stitch Designs
Materials: 2 yards of Bamboo Jersey in Fern
Size Made: 2
We recently started carrying Straight Stitch Designs at Fancy Tiger in preparation for her classes in May! I loved the look of her Montlake Tee right away and set out to see if it could become a new favorite everyday tee (Spoiler Alert: It is). Bamboo jersey is always a go-to for me and I love the super soft feel. It had all the makings of a dream combo.
I love sewing with jersey. It goes so fast! I finished this tee in a little over an hour - cutting and all! This shirt is perfect for beginners or anyone who wants to work with jersey for the first time. The construction is simple and easy to understand.
I used a serger on my inside seams to make it a bit cleaner and used a twin needle for the hemming! Montlake looks like a great everyday tee and that's exactly what it is! I already have plans for a few other versions. I'm hooked!
