Pattern used: Named, Lilja Pinafore
Size Made: EU 46/ US 14

Modifications: I chose the Sleeveless Pinafore with a square neck, I shortened the tie slightly to fit selvedge to selvedge on the fabric and I can't say I miss the length.

A new sewing pattern is always exciting here at Fancy Tiger Crafts and Lilja caught my eye since I enjoy most wrap style garments. When I saw the picture of the Pinafore version of Lilja, it reminded me of the jumper dresses of the 90s. I chose the Deep color of Brussels to coordinate with the blues and greens of my wardrobe and give an “almost denim” look.
Brussels Washer is a classic staple here at Fancy Tiger Crafts but this was my first time sewing with it and it was very easy to sew up! The pattern came together really quickly! The trickiest part of using the “burrito method” to create the shoulder straps. I have used this method before but needed a little refresher. Luckily, Named had a tutorial on their site that set me back on track. The Lilja is a comfy dress with a lot of cute options and can be worn with the tie in the front or back and can be worn layered or by itself. It's the perfect transitional piece for Colorado spring!
