Jaime's Hinterland Dress
I've had my eye on the Hinterland Dress pattern from Meg over at Sew Liberated for a while. I'm so glad I finally made one! This is every bit as comfortable and flattering to wear as it looks!
Pattern: Hinterland Dress
Size Made: 6
Fabric: Japanese Slub Double Gauze in Spruce
Buttons: 10mm Quartz Button in Cobalt (4)
Modifications: None
Sew Liberated makes patterns that are classic and easy to wear and this is no exception. This pattern is great in that it offers many different versions. You can choose sleeve or no sleeve with different sleeve lengths, a full or partial placket and differing dress lengths. I choose to make the long, 3/4 sleeved dress with partial bodice placket. I made a size 6 which is the correct size for my measurements and this dress is roomy. The fit in the shoulders and arm is perfect so I don't think I'd go down in size.
We just received this dreamy Japanese Cotton Slub Double Gauze in a beautiful palette of colors. I finally landed on Spruce, but it was a tough choice! This fabric is soft, doesn't wrinkle as much as a linen, and was easy to sew with.
Having made one Hinterland, now I'm excited to try it out again in a linen. The shape and comfort makes me think it will be perfect for the Spring and Summer seasons and for traveling.
I finished the dress with four bright blue buttons from Ateliler Brunette. I love the clean look of a shank button.
Overall I love my Hinterland! I'm excited to take this on trips and wear it in warmer weather.
