Jaime's Crystal Magic Datura Tank

Quilt Market is coming up this weekend so I've been busy sewing so many new things! My trip to quilt market would not be complete without wearing something in the newest Lizzy House Collection, Natural History. I decided to make a summery tank - the Datura Blouse by Deer and Doe.

Pattern: Datura Blouse, version A by Deer and Doe, available in store

Fabric: 1 yd Hall of Gems in Sapphire, 1 1/2 yds Shot Cotton in Thunder
Size Made: 38, US sz 34
Modifications: Took out darts

I made this tank before in the collared version and have always wanted to make the cut-out neckline version. The triangles mimic the shape of the crystals in this amazing print so it was a perfect fabric/pattern match.

I decided to take out the bust darts and I went up a size from my first Datura in hopes of a better fit. I've been moving towards a dart-less sewing program in most of my garments which so far is going pretty well. The top is little big, so I think sticking with my original size minus the darts for this quilting cotton would have been perfect. I like the idea of a slightly oversized tank in a drapier fabric so I might give this another go.

This top has so many details that I love. The entire top bodice is lined which makes construction surprisingly easy. The triangles are finished with a simple bias strip. A buttoned back adds another cute element to this tank. Adding buttons to a project is always the best.

And OMG crystals! I love that I have a top with crystals on it, so thanks Lizzy for another fabric win!
