Amber Finds Happiness in Our Crinkle Rayon
Crinkle rayons are here, so I needed a quick project to get it onto my body, stat! I fell in love with this teal floral and stitched up the easy-peasy "Top" pattern from Sonya Philip's Act of Sewing.
Pattern: Top (with neck facing option), Act of Sewing book by Sonya Philip
Size Made: M
Materials: 1.5 yards Garden Crinkle Rayon in Teal
Modifications: Cropped and added a 1.5" hem at the waist. Added 1.5" cuff to the sleeve.
I decided to make a more cropped version of the Top, taking about 5" off the length at the center front, straightening the hem and then adding back in a 1.5" hem for some added weight. I also cut a separate piece to add a 1.5" cuff to the sleeves.
I stitched this top almost entirely on the serger, which means it took me almost no time to make. Sometimes there is nothing better than a quick and rewarding project like this!
The end result? I love the flowing drape of this fabric, mixed with the somewhat boxy shape of the Top pattern! It's the perfect alternative to a comfy tee.
