Lotta Jansdotter Workshops!
Amber and I get to meet a lot of amazing people on our travels to trade shows, retreats, and workshops. One of the best things about having Fancy Tiger is getting to bring some of these people to the shop so our customers can meet them. Having Swedish fabric designer and print-maker Lotta Jansdotter at the shop this weekend was a dream come true.
We hosted a book signing event for Lotta's newest book, Everyday Style. Lotta brought bracelet kits so attendees could make the fabric bracelet project from the book.
Lotta taught two sessions of her beginning printing workshop. She covered three methods of printing on paper and fabric including using potatoes, block printing and stenciling. Lotta's simple, clean aesthetic was perfect inspiration for students. Lotta's encouragement of minimal design made for surprisingly beautiful work. Students were able to print on notebooks, fabric, cards, tags and muslin bags.
For the ultimate experience, check out Lotta's summer workshop on her home island Åland this July!
We have some exciting guest instructors coming into town for our 10 year anniversary including Stephen West, Sonya Philip and Jeane deCoster so don't miss out!
