Hops Cowl + Yarn Along the Rockies 2016
Tomorrow is the day! Yarn Along the Rockies begins at 10 am, and we are so excited for the 5th annual yarn crawl. This year, all participating shops will again be sharing a free pattern for the crawl. We are happy to introduce Hops Cowl - a new pattern by Miriam Felton for Fancy Tiger Crafts.
This gorgeous cowl is deceptively simple to execute, using garter, reverse stockinette, and traveling slip stitches to create a range of textures and patterns. The cowl looks beautiful on both sides of the fabric. This cowl uses two colors of sock yarn and was knit using Knerd String Fingering Weight yarn. Knerd String is a brand new (and exclusive to us) yarn locally dyed by Renee of Knerd bags. We have put together tons of two-color bundles of Knerd String for yarn crawlers to choose from - the 50 colors of yarn all look dangerously good with one another! Two skeins of sock yarn will yield 2 small cowls (shown) or 1 large cowl (7" by 56"). This pattern will be available for free on the Yarn Along the Rockies website starting tomorrow. You can also pick up a free printed copy of the pattern during the yarn crawl.
Yarn Along the Rockies goes for 9 days: Saturday, August 20th through the 28th. This year, we continue our traditions of a free commemorative stitch marker at every 5th shop you visit, and new and improved tote bags to pin all your shop pins onto. Make it to all 17 shops, fill your passport and you will get the entire set of stitch markers. Woot!
As with every year, you can enter to win a prize basket at every shop you visit, and for those dedicated folks who visit all 17 shops, you will be entered to win one of 3 grand prize baskets. Visit the crawl website or stop in and see us and we'll get you a passport and give you the whole scoop. Hope to see you soon
